IJPC Peace and Nonviolence

Peace Camp provides an opportunity to share and learn from each other in a safe environment. Youths, ages 6-12 from a variety of Cincinnati Neighborhoods, are encouraged to connect and bridge urban and suburban divisions while learning more about the arts, others and themselves. Local artists and professional trainers teach social and emotional skills using aspects derived from a successful research-based curriculum Student's Creative Response to Conflict, which is used internationally.
Theme areas include Affirmation and Self Esteem, Cooperation and Communication. Appreciation of Differences, Conflict Management and Envisioning Peace.

World Peace Bell Center, 421 Monmouth St., Newport, KY 41071

The World Peace Bell, the largest, free-swinging bell in the world.
Weighing in at 66,000 pounds and measuring 12 feet high and 12 feet wide, the bell was designed and cast by Cincy's own Verdin Bell Company, one of the largest bell-making companies in the world.
Installed in 1999, the bell was originally crafted to be rung on the International Day of Peace, in 2000. Since then, the bell has become an icon for the city of Newport and marks the location for many events and civic gatherings.
