Glenn Lee Benner II, son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend, 43, died by lethal injection at 10:15 a.m. on February 7, 2006 at the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville, OH. God created a beautifully clear blue sky to carry his child home, while over 125 people stood in prayerful witness outside the prison gates. Bimbo (known by friends) was originally from the Akron area. He was adopted as God’s son in baptism, was first nourished at the table of the Lord with Holy Communion and was Confirmed in the Roman Catholic Church on May 24, 2000. He touched many lives, even more than he ever knew. He is greatly missed by family members and his many friends from O.S.P., Ohio, Pennsylvania, Ireland, U.K., Australia, and South Africa. Many family and friends celebrated Glenn’s entry into eternal life with The Mass of Resurrection at 10 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2006, at St. Joseph Church of Cuyahoga Falls, 1761 Second St., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221, with Father Herb Weber officiating. The light and love of God was evident during the service. From All Bimbo's Brothers on Death Row – “We miss him and know that he is in a better place. We pray for peace for his family and the victims’ family.” Glenn's last message "To those who knew and loved me, and all those I have hurt by my actions -- I am truly sorry.
