Huge Opportunity to push for Clean, Renewable Energy in Cincinnati!

January 30, 2012 - 6:00pm - February 6, 2012 - 2:00pm

When: Monday, January 30th at 6pm and Monday, February 6th at 1pm

Where: City Hall, Downtown Cincinnati
Description: Huge opportunity in the next two weeks to really push for clean, renewable energy here in Cincinnati!

Public hearings on electric and gas aggregation (issues 44 and 45 that voters overwhelmingly approved in November) will be held Monday, January 30 at 6 p.m., and Monday, February 6 at 1 p.m. -- both at City Hall.
On Jan 30th- there will be a pre-hearing kickoff at 5pm

In Oak Park, Illinois, enough residents spoke up for clean energy that the city signed a contract for 100% wind power energy at a rate that is lower than what we've been paying here in Cincinnati. We can push for our contracts to give a preference to clean electricity, and get Cincinnati off dirty coal! And on our natural gas contracts for the city, we can push for the gas to not come from hydrofracked sources.

It will make a HUGE difference if lots of supporters, like yourself attend a hearing and make brief statement, or just come and show your support in the audience. This is a real chance to speak out and help make Cincinnati 100% clean and green city!

** If worried about what to say at the hearing, there will be an info session and training  at the Greenpeace Office (117 E 12th Street, Cincinnati, 45202) this Saturday (Jan.27th) @ 1:00- 2:00p. You will get all the facts on aggregation, how to testify and what to expect at the hearing. e-mail kmelges@greenpeace.org if you'd like to attend
