Women in Black

July 30, 2012 - 4:30pm - 5:30pm

Where: Corner of 5th Street and Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH

Solemn monthly witness that visibly opposes and mourns war and violence; a steady reminder that violence leads to violence.  This takes place on the fourth Monday of every month from 4:30-5:30pm.

Women in Black does not meet when the temperature is under 25 degrees or over 90 degrees, during heavy rain or high winds, during July and August, or on major national holidays.  After the summer break, the witness resumes on the Monday after Labor Day.

Women in Black… is a world-wide network of women committed to peace with justice and actively opposed to injustice, war, militarism and other forms of violence. As women experiencing these things in different ways in different regions of the world, we support each other’s movements. An important focus is challenging the militarist policies of our own governments. We are not an organization, but a means of communicating and a formula for action. Women in Black has been in Cincinnati since it began in October 2002.
