Human Rights Week 2011

December 5, 2011

Celebrate the anniversary of International Human Rights Day with a week packed full of exciting events.

DEC 6 & 7      8 - 12 PM
Occupy the Court House
On December 6th-7th, the judges handling the arrest cases accrued by Occupiers in Piatt Park will finally begin hearings. OccupyCincy is asking for support from the local community to stand with them at the Courthouse and participate in press events, street theater, and general support actions. The 12 judges are holding one consolidated evidentiary hearing on these days to minimize the time that witnesses and court staff will need to spend on the 242 cases piled up throughout the Occupation – each judge will then make their own decisions on what to do with the cases. The Occupiers’ hope is that they will follow Judge Bouchard’s lead and dismiss their cases and the fines associated with them. Please help them to turn out public support on these days!
