IJPC’s Commitment to Immigrant Children

IJPC takes the position that immigrants have human rights that must be protected and that the practice of breaking up families and separating children from parents must stop. We feel called to identify the prejudices and stereotypes that may reside in our hearts and to work to eliminate them personally and when they become obvious in public debate. We will try to gather correct information and share it even as we realize the present situation is complex. We will not let fear rule us or political expediency take over public debate.

IJPC has available a two hour free workshop, Loving Our Immigrant Neighbor, that helps sort through the practical and legal questions faced by immigrant people and those who support them. Call (513) 579-8547 to arrange a workshop for your civic group, church group or gathering of friends.

Happy New Year!

IJPC enters 2008 encouraged and determined. Our goals may seem unreal. Are they? We think not. They are the goals articulated by prophets and ethical leaders. They are the hope of world religions. 2008 is the time to take steps toward peace and justice. You and I determine whether those steps are giant or baby steps.

Happy 2008! May the new year bring happiness to you, those dear to you and all who share this time and planet.
