Peace Skills Resources

Skills Training at IJPC

We provide our own resources at Dialogue Tools (Days of Dialogue).

Practical Non-Violence

Nonviolent Peaceforce  IJPC is a supporting organization of the Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP). Kristen Barker is an NP trainer and utilizes the curriculum for the Nonviolent Conflict Intervention trainings IJPC offers.

Center for Nonviolent Communication  IJPC nonviolence trainings are informed by the work of Marshall Rosenberg and Nonviolent Communication. IJPC has offered Nonviolent Communication practice groups and trainings. Fortunately, there is a growing Nonviolent Communication community in Cincinnati that is offering more support and trainings to people in this area. To find out more, see Cincinnati NVC.

Michigan Peace Team  IJPC has sponsored numerous nonviolence trainings by the Michigan peace team. We value their approach and model our efforts for a Cincinnati Peace team on their example.

Compassionate Listening  IJPC's nonviolence trainings and dialogue process rely on deep listening.

Strategic Non-Violence and Campaign Building

Training for Change  This website is chock-full of useful exercises and tools that can help design more effective campaigns. IJPC has offered numerous Training for Change workshops including the Nonviolent Warrior, Class Matters, and a Nonviolent Skills Workshop. We use their tools and processes in most, if not all, of the campaigns we work on.

Smart Meme  This creative organization has invaluable tools for building campaigns, messaging, and the importance of the Battle of the Story.
